“How can we scale leadership development across several countries?”

What They Needed

Xerox recognised the need to strengthen leadership capability across its European management teams to support future growth and maintain high standards of performance and customer response.

The challenge centred on:

  • Developing both new and experienced managers across the UK, France, Poland and Spain
  • Embedding leadership behaviours and soft skills to complement existing technical knowledge
  • Addressing cultural differences, ensuring training felt relevant within each region
  • Improving cross-country collaboration and strategic working relationships
  • Aligning leadership approaches to keep pace with growing customer expectations

The business wanted a consistent leadership development experience delivered with local nuance, a programme that could support managers operating in different markets while reinforcing what it means to be a Xerox leader.

In short: How do we develop leaders across multiple countries while respecting cultural differences and maintaining a unified leadership standard?

What We Did

We developed a 12-month leadership development programme, designed and delivered specifically for each country in the native language to ensure cultural relevance and engagement.

The programme included:

  • Five core modules (totalling 10 training days) covering leadership, team effectiveness, communication, coaching and customer focus
  • Tailored learning pathways aligned to role seniority and organisational expectations
  • Practical soft skills development, with tools to apply behavioural change immediately in the workplace
  • Behavioural profiling and leadership style reviews, enabling participants to understand their natural strengths and adapt their approach
  • Ongoing access to programme leaders, offering real-time support on applying learning to live leadership challenges
  • Rollout across the UK, France, Poland and Spain, adapted to local practice while maintaining a consistent core framework

The design ensured every manager understood not only how to lead effectively in their country but how to operate as part of a wider European leadership community.
